How to buy an ebookGeneral FAQs

Buying a book online at the Taylor & Francis eBookstore is a simple and direct process; five easy steps and you will be reading your book in no time.

Begin with ‘the right book’…

1. Find the right book

You may browse by ‘eBooks’ or ‘Search’ our collection to find the book you are looking for. Do not miss out on the ‘Browse before You Buy’ advantage, which enables you to browse through select pages of the book and make an informed purchase. Currently available for select books, this list will soon expand to include more books.

a ) To browse by ‘eBooks’ :

• Click on the eBooks button from the left navigation panel. The resulting interface will display a list of linked category and subcategory names.
• Click on the requisite category link to browse through the titles available under that category. Alternatively, you can further refine your search by clicking on a subcategory link.

b ) To ‘search’ for a book :

• Type in known information about your book in the ‘Search’ box on the ‘Home Page’ or select the ‘Search’ option from the left navigation panel.

Once you locate your book of choice, click on ‘More’ for a synopsis of the book’s contents with an interesting compilation of pertinent quotes or view sample pages of the book (if available) with the ‘Browse Before You Buy’ access option.

Browse Before You Buy

Now you have the opportunity to actually browse through the contents of the book with the ‘Browse Before You Buy’ feature. Sample pages of the book can be viewed online in the DX Reader electronic format by clicking the ‘View Sample Pages’ link. Look out for access permissions - constituting accessible pages and the browse time - at the top centre of the page.



2. Add it to the shopping cart
• If you have found the right book, click on a format of choice to add it to the shopping basket.
• Take advantage of our attractive discount offer, and get 80% off on an additional format of the same book.
• Kindly review the selections in your shopping cart before opting to check out.
• If you wish to delete any of your selections, check ‘Remove’ for the title and click on ‘Re-calculate’ to update your cart contents.
• Now click ‘Checkout’ to remit your payment.


3. Register Now
• If you are a first-time user, you will be required to register before remitting your payment online. Fill in the registration form and click on ‘Submit’.
• If successfully validated, click on ‘Proceed’ to make your payment.


4. Make Your Payment
• Online Payment transactions are facilitated by state-of-the-art eCommerce technology providers – WorldPay, ensuring absolute security and integrity of your payments.
• At the WorldPay ‘Checkout’ page, fill in your payment details and click on ‘Make Payment’ to submit your payment.
• On successful transaction, you will arrive at the ‘Receipt’ page, where you will click ‘Proceed’ to access and download your purchase/s.
• You will also receive an ‘order receipt’ from the eBookstore as an acknowledgement of your purchases at the eBookstore.

• We welcome payments through Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Eurocard, Visa Debit, Switch, Solo, Delta and JCB.


5. Download your book

Now you are just a few steps away from actually reading your book. All downloads are made easy by instructive wizards, which step you through the process effortlessly.

• On successful payment, you will arrive at the ‘Download Centre’ where you will find your purchases archived in the appropriate format eBookshelves.
• Click on the required format eBookshelf to access your purchases and hit the ‘Start Wizard’ button to download your eBook.

*Please be advised :

• You will need to download and install the required Reader software for the format purchased, before you download your book.
• Every format download is executed in compliance with format security standards stipulated by the format proprietors. We recommend a read-up on the various eBook formats and the FAQs before you attempt eBook downloads.
